Historian, John A. Jackson to present at Fairhope Unitarian Fellowship about Baldwin County AL's approaching Bicentennial celebration
Baldwin County Alabama’s County Bicentennial in 2009 will be here quicker than you think. That’s why John A. Jackson is preparing for the event now. Jackson will be addressing the topic of “Preparing
for the County Bicentennial” on Sunday, July 22 at the Fairhope Unitarian
Fellowship building. His credentials
include being the department head for the Baldwin County’s Department of
Archives and History, with a master’s degree in both Information Science and History;
he is also currently working on a Ph.D. in History at Auburn University.
Along with giving the public a report of the progress of the
County Bicentennial celebration planning, John A. Jackson is working on a
number of other projects for Baldwin County. Some of these projects include an oral history of the community,
transferring historical documents to an online electronic format, and speaking
to local organizations and groups about the value of upholding Baldwin County’s
rich heritage.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend Jackson’s
presentation this Sunday. For more
information on the time and location contact the Fellowship at 929-3207 or
