Spanish Fort AL City Council puts a Hold on Building more Rental Units in the Rapidly Growing City

A six-month Moratorium will be in effect for Spanish Fort AL to allow the Council to come up with a study on impact

The once small town of Spanish Fort, AL has grown rapidly in
the past few years; nevertheless, with this growth comes a consideration for
how much growth is beneficial and what may not be. Dozens of requests have come to the Spanish
Fort city council to put up more apartment complexes. Yet, the city council has opted to put a
freeze on all future rental units. Before
more apartments can go up in the city, a study of how this will affect roads,
sewers, and other infrastructure in Spanish Fort must be conducted.

The six-month moratorium will prevent any new requests for
apartment units to be considered or even heard. City council members hope that this will give them the time they need to
determine what is to be done on this matter.
