Largest Unit Development Plan in Baldwin County planned for Spanish Fort AL

International Paper Realty are planning on overlooking this vast development plan and creating a "self-contained" community

Spanish Fort Alabama may soon see a new development project
in the works. The Highlands of Spanish
Fort, encompassing 11,076 acres, will be the largest unit development planned in
the Baldwin County area, according to a recent Spanish Fort Sun article.  International
Paper Realty developers who will be handling the project have received approval
for what will be a 40-plus year development plan and is expected to bring in an
estimated 65,000 residents to the area in the next 30 to 40 years. Plans are for a mostly residential
development that will also be ‘self-contained’ in the sense that it will
include other support services. Although
International Paper Realty will not actually be building homes or commercial
buildings, they will be selling the land with certain standards in mind for
those that will build.
