Spanish Fort AL approve Zoning Ordinance Ammendment for sewer and septic

Changes in sewer and septic in Spanish Fort AL that effect homeowner's

The zoning ordinance amendment apropos of sewer and septic systems was
approved unanimously at a special Planning Commission meeting earlier this week
in Spanish Fort Alabama. The ordinance originally
stated that if ‘sewer was reasonably available and septic tank systems fail,
residents are required to get sewer,’ according to a recent article in Baldwin
County Now
; the vote was to amend the ordinance to allow new development of
three acres or more to be given the option of having sewer or septic systems as
long as they meet the Board of Health regulations.

This will make it possible for residents to have septic systems available,
as they are less costly than sewer, and if they fail, they can be replaced as
long as they meet with the Board of Health approval.
