Bay Minette AL to See New Historical and Recreational Park
This new development will bring in tourists and residents alike to view the rich history of Alabama's Gulf Coast
Although the only signs of possible construction in a
367-acre plot just north of Bay Minette AL are some surveyors’ stakes, this
area is about to see some beautiful developments soon. According to Baldwin County Now news, Baldwin
County officials are looking to turn this park into a recreational and
educational complex; some of the highlights will include period structures,
boardwalks recreation, and historical working exhibits.
The project is slated to take about 10 years to fully
complete, but starting at the end of 2008 they hope to have a boat launch, bath
house, primitive camping area and vehicle camping area, and a small store open
to the public in this Bicentennial Park and Village. Also in the next few years
the park area should see a two-story museum that not only will house county
specific artifacts but will be able to function as a meeting place and
classroom for educators.
County officials hope that each part of this ‘historic’
project will be educational and entertaining to tourists and residents alike.
