Spanish Fort Alabama to Open Multi-Million Dollar Park

Expected to open this month, "Spirit Park" will be an enjoyable place for atheltics and family

Due to the opening of Spanish Fort’s new multi-million
dollar recreational facility, city officials have found it necessary to create
a new position for a head of parks and recreation; the individual to be the
first Parks and Recreation Superintendent for Spanish Fort will be expected to
oversee maintenance and landscaping and manage the bills and events at the new
park. No one has yet been named for the
job, and the city hall is still taking applications.

Spanish Fort Alabama’s new park, tentatively known as Spirit
Park, has six tennis courts, three softball fields and a concession facility.  Mayor Joe Bonner reported to the
Press-Register that the park was all for the kids and should encourage more children
to participate in athletics. The 15-acre park is expected to open this month.
