ThyssenKrupp’s Steel Mill Receives 8,765 Applicants

Mobile's future Steel Mill is hiring 500 workers to start this summer

With nearly 8,800 applicants for the ThyssenKrupp steel
mill, officials must now sort through resumes to select only about 500 to start
this year. This first group of workers
is expected to be hired by early summer, with additional windows of opportunity
for more workers before the 2010 opening of the plant. AIDT will run the interview process and
enlist applicants that are ‘ready’ to take training classes; although
completion of the training classes does not guarantee employment, AIDT will
recommend those that do finish training to ThyssenKrupp who will make the final
hiring decisions.
