With a $40 Billion contract underway, Mobile AL's Airbus plant will be busy

It looks as though Mobile Alabama will now be producing the
179 KC-45A tanker aircraft over the next 15 years as hoped.  Northrop Grumman Corp and EADS won the $40
billion contract as announced last Friday and if the decision is not overturned
by an appeal by Boeing Co., they will be starting work to fulfill the contract
soon.

This is a great opportunity for Mobile, a fast growing city,
to continue to see growth that will add to favorable economic conditions. As the Airbus plant will be attracting more
and more jobs over the years (there is an estimated 1,800 to 2,800 more jobs to
be added in Baldwin and Mobile Counties for this new contract alone), the
overall effects will be significant and beneficial for Mobile’s economy.
