North Baldwin County Water Expansion Project is Underway

Expected to be finished in July, NBU will provide water to residents in other areas of Baldwin County

The North Baldwin County water expansion project is expected
to be completed by July of this year. A $4.7
million project, the expansion plan includes 57 miles of water lines and a
250,000-gallon water tank. The areas
that are affected by the expansion project include Phillipsville, Little River,
Blacksher, some areas along County Road 96 between U.S. 59 and County Road
47.

The Community Development Block Grant received by the
Baldwin County Commission includes a waiver of the $1,000 tapping and
connection fees for all subscribers with a primary residence. NBU, which supplies all water to Bay Minette,
White house Fork, Tensaw, Stockton and subscribers in Spanish Fort, will own
and operate this North Baldwin County water system as well. Officials hope to have the water system in
place to not only bring fresh drinking water to subscribers, but help in
emergency situations that may arise.
