Daphne’s Trione Park Sports Complex Needs More Planning Before Approval
With a few concerns to still work out, the park plans will need to be reviewed and changed
The
Daphne Planning Commission recently announced that the Trione Park Sports
Complex will need to go through more planning before receiving approval. The Trione Park Sports Complex is a 122-acre
development located half of a mile east of North Main Street and Park Drive in
Daphne Alabama.
One
of the main concerns about the current plan is that the driveway will be over
150 feet long, with a t-shape, which will cause problems in cases of fire, and
for common problems such as not finding a parking spot and having to back up
through the driveway. Also, the expected
amount of ball fields (i.e. 22) and a pool will be expensive to keep running
and they are urged to look into this more to see if it can be sustained. In addition to these concerns, Commissioner
Victoria Phelps and Chason have requested that trails be built into the park plans
so that children from surrounding subdivisions can reach the park without
crossing over residents’ lawns.
Thus,
the Daphne Planning Commission will be reviewing these concerns in the near
future to see that Trione Park Sports Complex will be convenient and enjoyable
to residents and their children.
