Baldwin County Ranked Highly in Economic Strength Study
A recent report showed Baldwin County Alabama to be in the top 4 percent in economic strength. The study was titled Economic Strength Rankings—2008 and was conducted by POLICOM Corp. of Palm City Florida; POLICOM looked at such factors as the quality, behavior, and negative aspects of the economy in different areas of the nation. The results put the Daphne-Fairhope-Foley Micropolitan Area as ranking 25 out of 577, which placed the area in the top 4 percent of all the 694 counties in the study. Also notable is that Baldwin County has consistently ranked in the top 40 Micro areas for the fifth consecutive year.
Some Baldwin officials owe their economic prosperity to the area’s ability to provide a good environment for businesses such as ThyssenKruppp and EADS and their new plant to assemble refueling tankers for the U.S. Air Force. But whatever the case, businesses and homebuyers are noticing the Gulf Coast of Alabama for its strong economic foundations.
