“Old Mobile” Development Plans in the Works

Mobile Alabama is rapidly growing and the results of a recent study have shown that more improvements are in the near future. The study was entitled “A New Plan for Old Mobile,” and included a variety of proposals presented to residents of Midtown North Mobile. Some of the ideas have gone to the drawing board, including a land parcel at Beauregard Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue which is planned to become a park; the designs for the new park are underway and Mayor Jones reported to WKRG news that it would be “a gateway to [the] community.”

Other plans include a sports complex area and recreational center. All of these changes will be brought in slowly in the next 5 to 6 years in the Mobile Alabama area.
