Daphne Alabama Prepares for Emergencies

Daphne Alabama residents were recently given a presentation on how to prepare for natural disasters, particularly hurricanes in a recent meeting with the Mayor. The session was called “Coffee with the Mayor” and allowed Daphne home and property owners, as well as other residents, to see what services were available to them in cases of emergency. The Daphne East Elementary School is one of the two shelters in Baldwin County that features concrete reinforced hallways built to hold up against 200-mph winds. During the presentation Daphne Alabama residents were asked to be considerate of others in times of disaster and remain calm to aid in the safety of all.

Baldwin County’s Emergency Management Agency has also worked to train shelter workers in first aid and emergency practices. For more information on emergency procedures in Daphne Alabama and Baldwin County visit ema.co.baldwin.al.us.
