Daphne Alabama Makes “Go Green” Efforts with Lake Forest Lake

Personnel from Daphne Alabama, Lake Forest Property owners Association members, the Lake Forest Improvement Committee, Mobile Bay national Estuary Program representatives and others have joined in addressing the problems with Lake Forest Lake. Over the years run-off from road construction and storms has turned the Lake into a mucky, shallow body of water; this also results in a decrease in various types of fish and the lack of water clarity makes the Lake unfit for human recreation purposes.

Now Daphne Alabama representatives along with many others are working to reverse the effects by collecting data and determining what can be done. The group has been working on green space requirements, workshops to educate builders and developers, identification of watershed sites, and dredging portions of the lake to help restore it.
