Segers Aero Corp. has decided to move their North American headquarters from Opa-Locka Floridia to Fairhope Alabama due to the incentives package offered by the Fairhope Economic and Industrial Board. The Segers Aero Corp. aviation service company recently purchased an existing 130,000-square-foot facility which is situated near the Fairhope Alabama airport; this building used to be an operations center for Crestview Aerospace and L3 Communications.

Relocating the headquarters for Segers Aero Corp. will involve moving some 40 employees and hiring 35 to 40 new employees by the end of the year. Segers Aero Corp. are involved in various aviation services on fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, with a specialization in engine maintenance and repairs for military and commercial planes, and Baldwin County welcomes their decision to operate out of Fairhope.

Fairhope Alabama City Council Look to Protecting Wetlands

June 16th, 2008 kinetic Posted in Fairhope Alabama Real Estate No Comments »

Fairhope Alabama’s City Council recently established a moratorium which would protect wetlands within the city limits. Under the new ordinance “land disturbance permits” will not be allowed effective immediately and extending to October 15 2008, unless it is changed before this time. The City Council president, Bob Gentle, indicated that putting a hold on ‘land disturbance permits’ will allow the city to work on stormwater ordinances; city officials realize that wetlands naturally absorb water from stormwater runoff so it will not end up in the bay via sewers or creeks. Harmful pollutants are contained in these runoffs and the Fairhope city council wish to address ways of protecting wetlands before more problems arise.

Fairhope Alabama’s New Nursing Facility Opens

June 9th, 2008 kinetic Posted in Fairhope Alabama Real Estate No Comments »

The new nurse-training facility and university opened in Fairhope Alabama at the end of May with great expectations. The building is state of the art and features human patient simulators, computerized testing labs, a special testing center, and a learning lab. This fabulous new facility is part of the University of South Alabama Baldwin County (USABC) and measures 20,503 square feet for an intensive and hands on learning and training experience for nursing students.

With the nationwide shortage of nurses, USABC is helping to bring competent and well-qualified individuals into the field. The new building is located on the west side of the Fairhope Civic Center and City Hall, and it currently has over 1,000 students in several different programs with future growth expectations.
